Why
do I need a web site?
The quick
answer is: to reach people. Whether you company or organization
is large or small, a web site can offer a variety of benefits.
You can attract new clients, provide an information gateway
for your employees, or answer common questions. It offers
a new selling channel and lets you lower communication costs
(long-distance phone calls, faxes, overnight deliveries, etc).
As a fast, convenient, affordable information delivery medium,
the Internet can be a very powerful solution for your business.
How
large of a site will I need?
That
depends on how much information you want to place on the web.
We offer a three page site
for very small businesses and individuals, however, most companies
and organizations choose our 10
or 20 page web site packages. These provide the room necessary
to create a full featured site. Sometimes your needs exceed
20 pages, and if that is the case, contact
us and we will work closely with you to create your larger
web presence.
Why
do you offer search engine optimization? Do I need it?
Search
engines are the window into the web. Most people find information
on the Internet using such search engines as Yahoo, Alta Vista,
and AOL. If you have created a great looking web site, that
is only half the battle. People still need a way to find
your site. That's where search
engine optimization techniques come in. At Paul Kaufman
Web Design, we use the latest methods to get you listed in
the search engines, and better yet, listed at or near the
top of the search results. We strongly suggest search engine
optimization to all our clients who purchase our web
design services.
How
do I decide what my web site will look like?

A great
way to get design and layout ideas is to visit other web sites,
both in and out of your area of business. Surf the web and
make notes on the colors and designs, and layout that appeal
to you. Also pay attention to those sites where you were able
to find information quickly and easily. As part of our
services, we offer our suggestions on designs and navigation
structures to help you come up with an attractive and highly
intuitive web site. So whether you have a detailed blueprint
of exactly how you would like your site to look or just a
vague idea, we can help you create a web solution that will
fit your needs.
How
long will my site take to complete?
The
time frame for completing a site depends heavily on the size
and the complexity of the project. A three page site with
two to three graphics per page and content provided by the
client will generally take less than two weeks to complete.
A larger site of eight to ten pages with custom graphics and
some copy writing can take from three to four weeks. Larger
and/or more complex sites will naturally take longer.
What
types of training do you offer?
We
offer one-on-one and classroom training in a variety of areas
such as: creating and maintaining web sites, creating graphics
for web sites, Dreamweaver Authoring software, and Lotus Notes
topics (mail, calendar/scheduling, and application development).
See our Training page for more
information on the courses we offer.
Why
should my company pick you over other web design firms?
For
one, Paul Kaufman Web Design can save you money. We have expertise
in key areas needed to create your web site (from graphic
design and Flash, to HTML coding, to content writing, and
search engine positioning). We even offer
hosting packages so you have a turnkey solution with Paul
Kaufman Web Design. You will save money using our company
because we will do the site personally and professionally,
without a lot of overhead.
Secondly,
I can offer something that other web design companies do not.
Training. After I design your web
presence, I offer one-on-one or group training on all aspects
of web site development and maintenance. If you choose to
take advantage of this training, you will save thousands of
dollars in web site maintenance fees because your in-house
personnel will have the knowledge to take over those duties.
What
tools do you use to make web sites?
We
use Dreamweaver as our web site authoring software. In addition,
we use PhotoImpact and CorelDraw to create your graphics.
We also develop using Flash technology which can greatly enhance
a web site's navigation scheme and overall visual appeal.
